Mid Essex Recovery College New courses and workshops for December 2026

What is this service?

Our timetable includes a wide range of both face to face and online courses. A full timetable as well as four monthly timetables, which you may find easier to navigate, are available on our Website. Courses are live on the website calendar and show more information about the course content.

Students can book via email or phone. From next term it will be mandatory for all students to have completed an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) before they attend a course. Along with our Recovery College partners in South Essex we recognise that an ILP is an important part of how we support students as it helps us better understand their goals and ensure that we have the correct support in place when they attend the College.

All our courses and workshops are free and provide a safe space for people to learn new skills, expand on existing ones, and attend courses developed to support mental health recovery. Co-production is a core feature of recovery college ethos; our courses are all co-produced by experts by experience, individuals with lived experience of mental health, as well as individuals with professional experience of working for mental health services. Our courses are mainly discussion based, and the College operates a ‘pass or participate’ approach whereas students can participate as much or as little as they feel comfortable to when they attend sessions

Courses are available to anyone aged 18 and over who have experienced or are experiencing mental health challenges themselves, who are supporting another person with their mental health challenges or who want to learn more about the topics covered.
